Defiant 12 Year Old Failing School?

This kid has been allowed to "get away" with this for too long. He should have got a good long ago. He just doesn't want to????? When did kids get that much "say" about school work? He should have only 2 choices. He can do his school work willingly or he can do it while sitting on a sore .
