How to convert avi. file to wma. file?

I recorded the footage from a flip camera but I don't have the camera know since it isn't my camera. When I tried Windows Media Encoder to convert it so I could use it on Windows Movie marker it didn't work. Someone PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
