I'm receiving dozens mailer demon notices for E-mail I never sent?

been receiving dozens mailer demon notices for E-mail I never sent, E-mail to address that are not mine, and thousands of messages in the spam folder. I received a notice from Tripod that they were making some technical changes to their service. This address is the receiving address for a domain name I have at Tripod. could this be the problem. HELP
