What investments etc. pay non-taxable interest?

Municipal bond interest is tax-free. But the interest rate is enough lower than you can get on other bonds of similar quality that unless you're in a very high tax bracket, you'd be better off financially in taxable bonds. So ignore that ad with its claims of great 8b tax savings.
