Will a horse really run someone over like you see in movies?

I was training a spoiled somewhat dominant mare who turned, looked at me, and deliberately ran me over. Horses have no concept of us being smaller or less powerful than them, we're simply different shaped herd members, and they don't care about hurting us unless they understand that hurting, attacking, or pushing us has a consequence. So, to answer you question, yes, a horse will run over someone, whether accidentally or deliberately, domesticated horses more often than feral horses as domesticated horses see people as herd members, not a predator to be feared.
