Does anyone have tips for using hotrollers?

I just bought some hotrollers today, cost me $80 they are Conair Infiniti and have ionic technology. Anyone have any tips on how to use them? Any products i should put in my hair, what kind of hairspray, anything! They work good, but I want some experienced advice on them. Do you know if they are bad for your hair?
