I love him, but so many things get in the way of a good relationship? (repost due to unhelpful answers)?

Honey as much as you might love someone, there is a problem with your boyfriend allowing his friend to speak to you that way. It might be that he just doesn't understand, because men think differently then we do. Its honestly better if you learn early on what things you need from a partner to make a relationship work. Somethings are just deal breakers. My current boyfriend and I have been dating for almost two years. We have had some serious problems with his family and the only way I have lasted through it is because I see myself with him no matter what. If you can say you honestly see yourself with this person for an extended period of time you need to talk to him about how your feeling. If he doesn't/can't back you up...then that might be the time you start watching out for yourself. Its hard but if you take care of yourself first and foremost at the end of the day you will be stronger no matter what the outcome! Good luck! :-)
